hoo is watching

I always say you are never alone in the woods. Well I've been working in the woods a lot this fine spring and I've made a new buddy. I hope it is a long friendship, today is our one week anniversary! He is staying in a certain tract and he flies off but not far.. one day as I was telling a friend about the owl, there was a hoot just a few trees away and then from several hundred yards off another owl flew over. Proof positive there are two so there must surely be a nest nearby. Chain saw work in the area is on hold for now. I believe it to be a Barred Owl. Don't let the round form and innocent looking eyes fool you, it is about two feet tall and a born killer and the woods are theirs.
